Need two vaccinations
Two vaccinations are required for good protection against HPV. The second HPV vaccination is given six months after the first HPV vaccination. Young people who want to be sure of a free, complete vaccination should therefore get their first HPV vaccination as soon as possible. If the first HPV vaccination does not take place in the first half of this year, the second vaccination cannot take place until 2024. From 2024, HPV vaccinations for young people between the ages of 19 and 27 will unfortunately no longer be free and they will pay the costs – €100.00 per shot – themselves. That is why the GGD Limburg-Noord calls on young people to take advantage of this opportunity.
Saturday 3 June in Venray
To make it possible for all young people to take advantage of this opportunity, the GGD Limburg-Noord has set up vaccination buses. These will be touring our region in the near future.
- Saturday 3 June, one of their vaccination buses will be at Flujasplein in Venlo from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and one at Henseniusplein in Venray.
- Saturday 10 June there will be one on the Munsterplein in Roermond and one on the St. Raphaelpad in Weert.
Young people who would like to get an HPV vaccination now are very welcome on these dates. Making an appointment is not necessary. In addition, there is a doctor who you can contact with questions, for example about the usefulness or safety of the HPV vaccine. Does this apply to you? Then visit the GGD on Saturday 3 or 10 June!
