Full Moon of the Deer

The Full Deer Moon is a astronomical phenomenon which occurs in July. In 2024, this event will be visible on the 21st. This is part of the cycle of Earth’s only natural satellite, which lasts approximately 29.5 days, where the moon appears fully illuminated from the Earth’s perspective.

The only natural satellite of the Earth in this phase is named after the male deer that begins to grow new antlers. Each year, these animals lose their antlers and grow them back. This process in the life of the deer is remarkable and coincides with this time, which is why it is named this way. Other terms by which it is known are the molting moon and the salmon moon.
