Province – GGD Groningen calls on young adults to get the HPV shot no later than June. 2 vaccinations are needed and between the 2 shots should be about half a year. To get the injections for free, you must get the first injection before the summer and the second injection before the end of the year. Vaccinations will only be free in 2023. Anyone who comes later for these injections will pay at least 350 euros.
HPV vaccinations at GGD Groningen
Young people can get the vaccination in Groningen on the Osloweg and in Veendam on the Zwaaikom. This can be done with or without an appointment. The opening hours are:

Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Tuesday and Thursday 13:30 – 16:00
Veendam, Zwaaikom 20
Tuesday and Thursday 9.30 am – 12 noon
What is HPV?
HPV stands for human papillomavirus. Someone who has the virus usually doesn’t notice it, but the virus is very contagious. In some cases, an infection can lead to cancer. The vaccination against HPV protects well against 6 types of cancer, including cervical cancer, penile and anus cancer. HPV can occur in both men and women.
