Bollenstreek – GGD Hollands Midden has started preventive vaccination against monkeypox. In recent weeks, people who have been in close contact with an infected person have already been vaccinated. From this week, people who are at increased risk of infection with monkeypox can also be vaccinated preventively.
They receive a personal invitation from the GGD or their practitioner. It is not possible to make an appointment for a monkeypox vaccination on your own initiative.
To reach everyone who is eligible, the Sexual Health and Infectious Disease Control teams of the GGD work together with the HIV treatment centers and the general practitioners in our region.
