“Ghost” on TV: erotic cut scenes, the origin of “I love you, ditto” and 10 other things you don’t know

by time news

Bank clerk Sam Wheat (played by Patrick Swayze), killed in an apparent robbery attempt, returns from the afterlife as a ghost to protect his girlfriend Molly Jensen (Demi Moore) from whoever betrayed him – his colleague and best friend Carl Bruner (Tony Goldwyn) – with the help of psychic Oda Mae Brown (Whoopi Goldberg): is the plot of “Ghost – Ghost”, cult 1990 directed by Jerry Zucker. The film immediately had a great success, for the plot (which alternates different registers, from the dramatic to the comic) and for the scenes that have entered the history of cinema (above all: Sam and Molly who work a clay vase with in background the song “Unchained Melody”, composed by Alex North and Hy Zaret in 1955 and brought to success by The Righteous Brothers in 1965). The film was also awarded two Oscars (Best Supporting Actress to Whoopi Goldberg and Best Original Screenplay to Bruce Joel Rubin). Waiting to see you again – on Sky Cinema Romance at 9 pm – here is a collection of curiosities to be discovered.
