A Gianniotis, with a strong presence in Greek volleyball, took over the technical leadership of the women’s volleyball department of Aris Thessaloniki, for the new season 2024-25.


This is the well-known coach Nikos Boutsouris, native of Gianniotis and first cousin of the former PAS ace Giannina Thanasis Boutsouris. Gianniotis coach started his career in 2000, working in many A1 and A2 category volleyball teams with great success. In fact, he also passed through the national teams. His origin is from Klimatia of Ioannina.

A.S. ARIS and the ARIS Women’s Volleyball department announce the start of the agreement with Nikos Boutsouris as the team’s coach for the 2024-25 season. The experienced technician started his coaching career in Pagrati from 2000 to 2008. In the 2006-2007, 2007-2008 seasons he went to Panathinaikos in the men’s team as assistant coach, while in 2011 he returned as head-coach.
In the years 2008-2011 he was a coach at Panhellenios (A1 Women’s National Team), while in 2012-2014 he was at Argyroupoli. Among others, he was a coach at Chania (2014-2015), AEK (Men’s A2 2016-2017), Vrilissia (Women’s Pre League 2017-2018), Artemis Korydallou, Ilysiakos, Markopoulos and the last year and a half at Apollonios.
Nikos Boutsouris has also worked in the National teams in various positions.
After signing the agreement with the Women’s Volleyball team, Nikos Boutsouris said: “I am very happy and excited, as it is the second attempt outside of Athens. The proposal made to me by ARIS is particularly honorable. Many thanks to the management, one by one. I believe that with the transfer moves we will present a worthy and decent team. It is not appropriate for ARIS to fight for salvation and our eyes are on the playoffs. The team will be quite competitive and we will try to give our best to attract the wonderful world of ARIS. We would like him to be the 7th player.”
