Giffey wants to take referendum on socialization seriously

by time news

Berlin – SPD top candidate Franziska Giffey has promised to take the referendum on the socialization of apartments “seriously” if it is successful on September 26th. It is then “respectful” and “responsible” to deal with the vote of the citizens, as with all previous referendums, said Giffey at an event with top politicians on Tuesday evening in the Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche in Kreuzberg.

After a successful referendum, it is the task of every state government to legally check whether the referendum is feasible, said Giffey at the event in response to a question from Joanna Kusiak from the Deutsche Wohnen und Co initiative. “For me as a Democrat, it is important that I live up to this responsibility,” announced Giffey.
