In his life Alfonso (Pietro Sermonti) has never particularly stood out for his beauty, charisma or charm. When his father Giacomo (Christian De SIca) has a heart attack and asks his son for help to be released from the hospital, Alfonso finds himself face to face with the person he believes is responsible for almost all of his traumas. The meeting offers both of them the opportunity to talk about the past and Giacomo reveals an uncomfortable truth to Alfonso: he is not an antiques dealer, but a gigolo! This discovery shocks Alfonso who, after a series of unfortunate events, in crisis with his wife and in economic difficulties, decides to follow in his father’s footsteps by taking his place with his clients, a series of women all different from each other and each unique in its own way.
