Returning to Leumit: As revealed on ONE, Gil Yitzhak was released this evening (Monday) from Maccabi Netanya and officially signed with Hapoel Umm El Fachem, through his agent Yaron Burns. The striker failed to leave a mark with the Diamonds and to his credit one single league goal, in a minority of minutes both under Benny Lam and under Ron Kozhuk.

Yitzhak joined Netanya last summer from Po’el Kfar Saba, where he recorded a great season of 14 goals. Before that, the 29-year-old striker played for Hapoel Tel Aviv, Hapoel Rishon LeZion and Bnei Yehuda, among others. He recorded his record year in the Rishon LeZion uniform in the 2018/19 season when he finished as the top scorer in the National League with 20 goals.

Umm Al Fahm is in sixth place in the national table with 28 points, only five points behind the league leaders, Tiberias. Now, Yitzhak will try to help his new team meet its goals this season and perhaps dream of a possible promotion to the first league.

In addition, ONE learned for the first time that the person who was marked as Yitzhak’s replacement at Maccabi Netanya, is the Hapoel Acre striker, Reva Esseig. The 21-year-old player became one of the most prominent players in the national league when he scored nine league goals for his team, which is at the top of the table.
