The economist Gilbert Cet was appointed president of the Pension Orientation Council (COR) on Tuesday, October 31, during the council of ministers. He replaces Pierre-Louis Bras, who was sidelined a few days ago, in a context of strong tensions with the executive.
Mr. Bras was in fact criticized by the head of government, Elisabeth Borne, of having maintained confusion during the debate on pension reform, while she sought to convince public opinion of the need to postpone until 64 years the age of eligibility for a pension.
Before the finance and social affairs committees of the National Assembly on January 19, Mr. Bras explained that pension expenditure “don’t slip”while specifying that the 2022 COR report forecast lasting deficits. “It confused the minds, had judged Ms. Borne in The Parisianin April. His successor, Gilbert This, whose name had been revealed Monday afternoon by the AEF agency, is an economist, former member of the Economic Analysis Council. He also teaches economic policy at Neoma Business School.
