Ginger Wollersheim suddenly complained of severe stomach pains. A short time later, the TV celebrity had to undergo an operation. This is what happened.
Since the beginning of the year, TV celebrity Ginger Wollersheim has owned a vacation home in Venezuela. She was there when she had to go to hospital due to an emergency. She is now reporting to RTL what happened.
The 38-year-old suddenly had severe stomach pains. “At first I thought I had food poisoning or something,” she recalls. In the hospital, however, the doctors discovered that it was an intestinal obstruction. “I only had that six months ago,” says Ginger Wollersheim.
The reality TV actress urgently needed an operation. But the health system in Venezuela works differently than in Germany. “You have to bring the money first. They wanted a whopping $7,800, otherwise they wouldn’t have operated on me,” she explained to the media. She said she had to hurry: “If I had waited a few hours, I would have died!” The strain has left its mark: “I’m completely exhausted and everything, because I’m here alone.”
Later, she also spoke out on her Instagram channel, showing herself in a hospital bed with infusion tubes. There she said that she was constantly fed in the hospital. That was different with her first bowel obstruction, which she had treated in Germany. There, she was not given any food for three weeks. In this country, it is common for people not to be allowed to eat anything after an operation for a bowel obstruction.
Ginger Wollersheim also feels like she is recovering much faster in Venezuela. “I feel so much better today,” she says.
