Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has launched a six-month national immigration state of emergencyafter 3,000 people have reached the coast of Italy in the last three days.
Meloni has adopted the measure, which is implemented throughout the Italian territory, at the proposal of the Minister of Civil Protection and Maritime Policies, Nello Musumeci. In principle, it will have a budget of five million euros.

The Vice President of the Italian Government and leader of the League, Matthew Salviniby assuring that Italy is “absolutely unable” to manage “a thousand daily arrivals” of immigrants and that “it is crucial that Europe wake up and intervene”.
