Giorgia Meloni has been elected Italy’s first female Prime Minister

by time news

Meloni’s National Brotherhood Party won last month’s election with a landslide.

Following this, Maloney was elected Prime Minister along with coalition parties.

This is the first time since World War II that Italy has come to power with the support of the far right.

Meloni won the parliamentary elections that followed the resignation of Prime Minister Mario Draghi due to economic problems in the country.

Prime Minister-elect Meloni, 45, appointed Giancarlo Giorgetti of the League as economy minister and Antonio Tajani as foreign minister.
