MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. — The body of Giovanni Pelletier, an 18-year-old from North Carolina who vanished while on vacation in Florida, has been discovered, his family has confirmed.
Pelletier’s remains were found near where his backpack had previously been located, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities had initially searched the area, a retention pond at the southbound off-ramp of interstate 75 and SR 70 in manatee County, near bradenton, on the first day of their search efforts.
Though, it was a private inquiry team, hired by Pelletier’s family, that ultimately found the body.
Officials have stated that no immediate physical evidence suggesting foul play was discovered. A toxicology report is anticipated to take approximately six months to finalize.
