Gipuzkoa leads the salary increase agreed in the agreements registered until August throughout the State. According to the registry of the Ministry of Labor released yesterday, the average wage increase agreed in our territory has been 6.19%, well above the state average, which has been 2.6%.
In the 88 agreements registered so far this year in Gipuzkoa, 82 have been for companies and include a salary increase of 4.58%, while the remaining six are sectoral and contemplate a rise of 6.5%.
In Bizkaia and Araba the increases were lower, 4.6% and 2.52%, respectively, which means that the average increase agreed in Euskadi is limited to 5.03%. In any case, it is also the largest increase of all communities. In Madrid, the agreed increase has been only 2.64% and in Navarra 4.53%. If we stick to the provinces, Valencia is the one that registers the second highest increase after that of Gipuzkoa, with 5.88%.
In any case, it must be remembered that these increases are well below inflation, which, according to advance data, closed August at 10.4%. The definitive registry and the detailed one by communities will be known next Tuesday. But with this data, Gipuzkoan wages are still more than four points below, which represents a considerable loss of purchasing power that in the case of the State as a whole is even greater, specifically 7.8 points.
