BOLZANO. The preliminary interrogation of the 37-year-old accused of drugging, kidnapping and raping a 16-year-old girl in Bolzano lasted two hours. This morning, the man appeared in court before the preliminary investigations judge Ivan Perathoner, making partial admissions.

This is an Italian who comes from outside the region, who arrived in Bolzano to work as a social-health worker. There would be other proceedings against him for sexual crimes, but of a less serious nature.

The 16-year-old reported it, saying she had met the man at a bus stop in the city center and was convinced to get in the car with him to go to a techno party in Trentino. During the trip, she was offered water to drink but, according to prosecutor Igor Secco, a tranquilizer or narcotic had been diluted in the bottle to stun her, allowing the 37-year-old to take her home and rape her without her being able to put up any resistance.

Arrested on Monday morning by agents of the Police Headquarters’ mobile squad, in execution of the precautionary custody order issued by the investigating judge, he is being investigated for aggravated sexual assault, kidnapping and supplying narcotics to a minor. Numerous packages of drugs were seized from the apartment where he lived for rent, which will be compared with the results of the toxicology tests on the 16-year-old, to acquire further elements.
