BOLZANO. The Government Commissioner for the province of Bolzano, Prefect Vito Cusumano, chaired a meeting of the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security in which the safety and security measures connected to the 107th edition of the Tour of Italywhich will cross the provincial territory on Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd May, for a total of approximately 200 kilometres.
The meeting was attended by the territorial leaders of the Police Forces and the Traffic Police Specialty, the Security Councilor of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, the President of the Consortium of Municipalities of Alto Adige, the Commanders of the Municipal Police of the Municipalities of Bolzano , Merano and Selva di Val Gardena, the Councilor for youth policies of the Municipality of Merano, the Mayor of the Municipality of Santa Cristina di Val Gardena as well as the representative of the organizing committee.
In particular, a specific planning of general prevention services for public order and safety has been prepared, also including the use of a suitable contingent of agents from the Local Police and the Provincial Forestry Corps, as well as personnel from the Fire Brigade. volunteers, to be deployed in some sections of the race route, to protect the safety of competitors and cycling team workers.
The surveillance services will also be aimed at ensuring compliance with the necessary limitations on vehicle transit and ensuring road traffic safety. The further detailed aspects will be examined in a specific technical-operational table at the local Police Headquarters, also with regard to the urban roads of the capital.
