Girona celebrated its General Shareholders’ Meeting today, act that has served to approve the annual accounts for the current season and also the budget planned for the current academic year, 2022/2023. In this case, revenues are multiplied by four, from 14 to 55 million euros. This amount goes up to 40.2 million. Here is added the improvement of commercial profits, going from 2.9 to 7.6 million. The recovery of the public in the stadiums means that the revenue expected for match days is around 3.2 million euros.

More money comes in, though expenses have also increased, as explained today at the Board. Payments climb steadily because, according to Girona, “adapt the personnel and operational structure to the new category”. This new budget should balance that expected expenses and income.

the accounts of thelast seasonthat of promotion (2021-2022), have also been approved and have done so with an increase of profits that stand at 2.5 million euros. The entry of the main sponsor, the brand, is applauded punishone of the new commercial agreements established, while remembering that the impact of the coronavirus is less than that of the previous year. The losses, of course, were greater: they climb up to 12 million euros. And this? It is spoken of staff cost, premiums for being promoted to the First Division and the “obligations arising from the same with other clubs”. A negative balance that “was already planned and covered with the injection of 20 million from the last capital increase”, made last year 2021. This move, according to Girona, “has made it possible to maintain the solvency” of the entity.

There has been talk of money and also of proper names, because there is a change in the board of directors. John MacBeath enter it to replace Andy Young after being there for the last five years. Finally, it has been agreed to appoint the auditing company for the next three financial years.
