The pension average for Girona’s retirees was 1,263.69 euros on average this Mayand 11.1% less than the Catalan average (1,404.35 euros) and one 8.8% below the average in Spain (1,375.23 euros). In total, 110,703 Girona residents benefit from the retirement benefit.
On the other hand, if we take into account all the pensions, in the regions of Girona, the amount of the average pension was 1,116.82 euros, 10.08% more than in May 2022but it is 6.55% below the national average, according to data from the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration.
In Catalonia, the average pension in Catalonia this month stood at 1,243.14 euros, a figure that represents an increase of 9.70% compared to the same month in 2022. This is 4.02% more than the national average, which is 1,195.08 euros, 9.65% more than in May last year. In total, 1,764,159 pensions have been paid in Catalonia, an annual increase of 0.79%, and they represent 17.61% of the total in the whole State. The majority belong to retirement benefits (1,164,643).
