Girona will lead job creation for Holy Week

The Easter campaign will involve the signing of 1,260 contracts in the Girona countiesin other words that is, 20.7% more compared to last year, according to a report prepared by the human resources company Randstad.

Growth in Girona compared to last year’s figures would be above the rest of the provinces of Catalonia. Barcelona will register around 8,110 contracts (17.3% more), Tarragona 1,470 (20.1% more) and Lleida 530 (19.7% more).

In Catalonia, the campaign will lead to the signing of around 11,400 contracts, 18% more compared to last year but still 28% less compared to pre-pandemic figures. In Spain as a whole, Randstad predicts that the Easter will generate around 84,750 contracts, 17.1% more than a year ago, when 72,399 were signed. Even so, this volume is still 27% lower than the 116,115 contracts registered in 2019, before the onset of the pandemic.

As for sectors, 81.6% of the 84,750 contracts that will be signed in the Easter campaign will correspond to the hospitality industry. With more discreet weights are passenger transport (11.8%) and artistic and recreational activities (6.8%).

The director of Randstad Research, Valentín Bote, states that “after a year since the entry into force of the labor reform, which has a considerable influence on the type and volume of recruitment, it is very positive to see that, despite the economic uncertainty , forecasts indicate an increase in contracts compared to 2022”.
