GITEX Africa: Morocco chairs the Council of African Information Technology Agencies

Casablanca – Morocco was unanimously elected president of the Council of African Information Technology Agencies (CAITA) of the Smart Africa Alliance for a two-year term.

The Kingdom is represented by the Director General of the Digital Development Agency (ADD), Mohammed Drissi Melyani, following his election on June 1, 2023, during the constitutive meeting of CAITA held by the member states of Smart Africa, the ADD said in a press release.

Taking place on the sidelines of the 1st edition of the GITEX Africa Trade Fair, the election confirms the essential role that our country plays in consolidating and strengthening South-South cooperation and the influence of the African continent.

CAITA constitutes a support and accompaniment mechanism for the Smart Africa Alliance, specifies the same source, noting that its main mission is to promote and strengthen cooperation in the field of digital development on the scale of the African continent.

The Council also aims to share experiences, good practices and expertise between member countries, the press release concludes.
