Around ten missions are scheduled for 2024, marking an acceleration in the reconquest of our satellite.

2023 was full of lunar news: first (failed) moon landing attempt by the Japanese company ispace, humiliating crash of the Russian Luna 25 probe, finally historic moon landing three days later, on August 23, of the Indian Chandrayaan-3 probe . This accumulation of attempts is not just a coincidence of timing. It reflects an underlying trend: we are witnessing a great wave of lunar reconquest.

For the year 2024 alone, no less than ten missions are planned. It begins Monday with the launch of Peregrine, the first moon landing machine from the American company Astrobotic, which marks the start of a series of seven private missions.
