Globo will show at Maximum Temperature this Sunday (04), right after Esporte Espetacular, the film O Último Suspiro. Released in 2018, the film stars Romain Duris, Olga Kurylenko, Fantine Harduin, Michel Robin. The production will air on the audience leader’s schedule at around 12:45 pm, Brasília time.
The Maximum Temperature film tells the story of Parisian Sarah who is part of a group of children who suffer from a mysterious ‘total allergy’ autoimmune syndrome that forces them to live in hermetically sealed capsules, while their parents, scientists Mathieu and Anna, desperately search for a cure. Soon afterwards Mathieu returns from Canada with news of a possible breakthrough. A while later, there is an apparent earthquake, followed by the release of a deadly gas that emerges from the ground and begins to spread through the streets, killing everyone trapped in it and inhaling the toxic gases.
Fortunately, the gas proves to be heavier than air, and Mathieu and Anna find refuge above the fog in the top-floor apartment of their elderly neighbors, Lucien and Colette. Sarah is forced to remain in her bubble in the family’s now fog-filled apartment, which has now been limited to just battery power mode to keep its air filtration system running.
When holding your breath, Mathieu breaks into the apartment one floor below, knowing that the occupant uses an oxygen tank. He takes the oxygen tank and mask from the neighbor’s body, and while collecting supplies, he discovers that the fog has killed the oldest of the neighbor’s dogs, although the puppy is unharmed.
After delivering supplies to Sarah and changing her battery, Mathieu ventures through the streets littered with corpses. He finds some soldiers leading a group of survivors, all wearing gas masks, heading to Montmartre, which is above the fog level. Mathieu is unwilling to leave without his family, so a soldier gives him two new masks and tanks before leaving. Upon returning to the apartment, Mathieu notices that the fog is slowly rising.
