In Barcelona Citizens chased foreign visitors with water pistols in protest against mass tourism in the city.
A group of people were caught spraying water with toy guns at several tourists who were having lunch in restaurants, bars and terraces in Barcelona, Spain.
The above occurred on July 6 and until this Monday the Barcelona’s town hall condemned the actions of citizens against foreign visitors.

In recent days, several demonstrations against mass tourism have been reported in cities such as Andalusia, the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands.
The protesters claim that the mass tourism seen in recent months has a negative effect, as it increases the price of housing and rent in Barcelona.
That is why Barcelona residents took to the streets to protest, confronting tourists with water pistols and chanting slogans such as “Tourists, go home!” and “Barcelona is not for sale!”
In response to the demands that protesters have made to the city government, Jaume Collboni -Mayor of Barcelona- announced last June a plan to gradually eliminate all short-term rentals by 2028.
