Actress Go Min-si revealed the process of losing weight for ‘In the Forest Where There Is No One’.

On the 26th, an interview with Min-si Ko, the lead actress of Netflix’s new original series ‘In the Forest of Nowhere’ (written by Son Ho-young / directed by Mo Wan-il / hereinafter referred to as ‘In the Forest of Nowhere’), was held at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.

‘Ah-eup-soop’ is a suspense thriller drama that tells the story of people whose peaceful daily lives are shattered and they become embroiled in uncontrollable incidents due to a suspicious guest who visits in the middle of summer. It was directed by Mo Wan-il, who directed ‘Misty’ (2018) and ‘The World of the Married’ (2020).

Go Min-si plays the role of Yoo Seong-ah, a woman who paints pictures. Yoo Seong-ah is a character who, after spending a day at Jeon Young-ha’s (Kim Yun-seok) pension in the forest one summer, is captivated by the beautiful pension and returns there a year later. After that, he threatens Young-ha’s daily life, causing great waves in her peaceful life.

On this day, Go Min-si revealed her diet process, saying, “I really lost a lot,” and “I think it was the lowest weight in my life, but I lost down to 43 kg.” She continued, “When I was filming ‘Sweet Home,’ I was down to 46 kg, but I lost about 3 kg more than that.” She confessed, “I thought it would be nice to show the bones in the spine a bit more so that it felt like a raw, animalistic feeling. Even if it’s just a fleeting image cut, I thought it would be nice to show that feeling more vividly so that Yoo Seong-ah gradually becomes more and more energetic and shows those aspects of herself.”

He then surprised everyone by saying, “That’s why I wanted to show the spine well and make it look grotesque,” and “I think I tried to lose as much as I could, but I think I lost about 5-6 kg from my original weight.”

Go Min-si said that this was his first time playing a ‘rich’ role in this production. He said, “I’ve always done blood makeup or played poor roles,” and “I used to do makeup like seagull eyebrows, but this was the first time I actually did it on purpose, and it was new and fun for me every time it was included in the scene. I think I really enjoyed taking on that kind of challenge.”

Also, Go Min-si explained about her short hair style in the drama, saying, “The head of the makeup team recommended it,” and “When I returned (to the Yeongha Pension) a year later, I appeared with my hair completely bob cut to look sharper.” He continued, “I put a lot of thought into the costumes as well,” and added, “The stylist team worked really hard, and we tried on a variety of looks during test shoots and changed them a lot. In terms of color, I tried to choose costumes that matched the background I had to shoot against. And as the drama progressed, I paid a lot of attention to the costumes so that the character of Yoo Seong-ah could look more three-dimensional.”

Meanwhile, ‘Ah-eup-sup’ was released on the 23rd.
