The number of applications reached illustrates the interest generated by this program among players in the sector, the ministry notes in a press release.
Among these requests, 215, or 50%, concern technical assistance, with a predominance for digital transformation which records 136 requests while 80 requests concern operational excellence and 50 requests concern market development, specifies the same source.
Regarding support for investments, 133 requests were submitted, including more than ten cooperatives in animation, around forty animation projects in general and more than 70 accommodation projects linked to an animation offer.
In addition, 84 requests for support for green growth were identified, mainly for photovoltaic and water saving initiatives, particularly in Marrakech, Casablanca, Souss-Massa and Fez-Meknes.
“We observe through these 430 requests a concrete enthusiasm of the operators of the sector to become more competitive,” indicated the Minister of Tourism, Crafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, quoted by the press release.
“By supporting more than 1,700 companies in the long term, we aspire to shape unique experiences that strengthen Morocco’s attractiveness on a global scale and contribute to resilient, innovative and sustainable Moroccan tourism,” continued Ms. Ammor.
Focused on creating a new generation of animation products, the “Go Siyaha” program is an essential pillar of the “Animation” lever of the 2023-2026 tourism roadmap. It offers concrete solutions to strengthen the competitiveness of existing Moroccan tourism companies while promoting the emergence of new modern and innovative tourism companies.
To achieve this objective, the program proposes 3 mechanisms offering investment bonuses of up to 40% and technical assistance financed up to 90%.
The ultimate goal is to support sector development initiatives in all regions of the Kingdom, in order to create successful tourism experiences.
Information sessions have been organized since the launch of the program, with caravans deployed in the 12 regions of the country, totaling more than 50 events, in order to raise awareness among local stakeholders of the opportunities offered by “Go Siyaha”.
These initiatives are carried out in collaboration with regional tourism delegations, regional professional federations, regional tourism councils (CRT), regional investment centers (CRI), and the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM).
These caravans have already stopped in the regions of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, Casablanca-Settat, Fez-Meknes, Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra, involving more than 80 regional tourism operators at each stage.
The next stage will be held on May 24, 2024 in the Dakhla-Oued Dahab region, in partnership with the CRT of Dakhla and the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Morocco (CFCIM) of Dakhla. This region, benefiting from a strategic geographical position on the Atlantic, has become a prime tourist destination in the Southern Provinces of the Kingdom, particularly in the Ocean Waves sector for water sports such as Surfing and Kitesurfing.
