The Premier League teams will not introduce the goal line technology because of the high financial cost. In the inspection they did, it turned out that the annual cost is about NIS 8 million for the “Hawk’s Eye” system to enter Israeli football.
In the discussion held in the administration among the Premier League teams, the conclusion was that when there is perhaps a case in the season about a dispute about whether the ball has fully crossed the goal line, therefore the high financial cost does not justify it. All this while the expenses for the groups are only increasing, and not in the same financial income graph.
Also, a review was recently conducted regarding the introduction of a VAR system in the national league like in the Premier League. In light of the financial cost of $100,000 per team per season, as well as the fact that not all fields have optical fiber, insufficient infrastructure and also related expenses to improve the technology, led to the decision to postpone the system to the national league for the time being, when there are teams that are also having a hard time in terms of financial expenses.
