Gochang County Mayor Shim Deok-seop, who was nominated as a challenge runner by Lee Nam-cheol, governor of Goryeong-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, certified the donation details in support of the development of nine local governments in domestic sister cities and nominated Dongrae-gu Mayor Jang Jun-yong as the next runner.
Gochang County Mayor Shim Deok-seop said, “I am happy to participate in the certification challenge to expand the hometown love donation system.” He added, “I support the continued development of the hometown love donation system, which is now in its second year of implementation, and will continue to save our hometown and support the region.” “I hope it becomes a good system that can contribute to balanced development,” he said.
The Hometown Love Donation System, now in its second year of operation, allows people to donate up to 5 million won per year to local governments other than their own address. Donations under 100,000 won are fully tax deductible, and donations exceeding 100,000 won receive a 16.5% tax credit. Gochang-gun offers a variety of over 80 types of return gifts, including local specialties such as eel, bokbunja, sweet potatoes, and rice, and also agricultural, fish, and livestock products, processed foods, and tourism-service products.
Meanwhile, Gochang-gun and Gochang-gun volunteer Center (Chairman Choi Eun-seo) held the ’2024 Gochang-gun Volunteer Conference’ at the Dongni Traditional Music Center on the afternoon of the 2nd, with about 350 volunteers in attendance, at which the ‘value’ of ‘together’ was resolved to ‘build the West Coast Railway’. was held.
