It appears that a retailer has leaked details on Ragnarok’s God of War performance and accuracy modes, which will offer a choice between 30 fps and 60 fps targets.
UK retailer ShopTo emailed customers today before Ragnarok pre-orders go live, promising that the game will let you “switch between full 4K resolution at 30 fps, or dynamic resolution upgraded to 4K at 60 fps.” Based on the way the information was written and the screenshots attached, it appears that these details were provided by Sony – although the PlayStation brand has yet to officially confirm the information.
You can see the shopping to send an email (Opens in a new tab) Fully here, though there aren’t many noticeable additional details. The game will support haptic feedback and adaptive triggers for the DualSense controller, and will also include 3D audio support.
These two performance options aren’t a huge surprise either way, as other first-party PS5 games, such as Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Horizon Forbidden West, have usually launched with similar features. Additional graphics modes, such as 40 goals per second intended for 120Hz screens, were often implemented by developers after launch.
As previously announced, pre-orders for God of War Ragnarok will open tomorrow, July 15. It’s safe to expect official information from Sony as these early purchases are posted. (Just be aware of what you are and what you’re like not to get this pricey collector’s edition.) The November 9 release date was finally confirmed earlier this month, after a long bout of revealing drama.
