San Salvador. President Nayib Bukele placed the first stone of the new Rosales and Nejapa hospitals, which require an investment of more than $110 million, on the night of this Thursday, June 15.

$60.2 million will be invested in the new Rosales hospital, to inherit a modern and efficient hospital for the population, said the president, when announcing the construction of the works.

The opposition maintains a discourse questioning the promises made in the campaign by the then presidential candidate, Nayib Bukele, such as the construction of this hospital and other works such as the Pacific Train and the Pacific Airport.

The president explained that many works have been delayed due to situations that were not foreseen, such as the Covid-19 pandemic, which demanded immediate attention and required funds to attend to emergencies.

The new Rosales Hospital will be built with the Government’s own funds acquired by collecting taxes from the population; while the new Nejapa hospital, which will serve the population of the northern zone, requires an investment of $55 million, financed by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI).

The Rosales Hospital will be built by the Municipal Works Directorate (DOM) for which Salvadoran personnel have been hired, because the quality of the DOM’s action is superior to that of some private companies, said the president.

The new Rosales hospital will have an anticoagulation area, a special clinic for heart failure, hemato-oncology, an immediate compensation room, phototherapy, palliative care, a prosthetic laboratory, etc.

Meanwhile, the Nejapa Hospital will serve one million inhabitants in the north of San Salvador and other towns in the north of the country.

The first stone of the Rosales hospital was laid by President Nayib Bukele, while that of the Nejapa hospital was laid by the Minister of Health, Francisco Alabí.
