Goheung-gun will be implementing the integrated care service for the most severely developmentally disabled for the first time in September. Goheung-gun (Governor Gong Yeong-min) announced that on the 28th, it held a review committee for selecting an integrated care service provider for the most severely developmentally disabled at the county office’s Palyeongsan Hall and selected Goheung-gun Welfare Center for the Disabled as the implementing agency.

The integrated care service for the most severely developmentally disabled is a project that provides 1:1 customized services to the most severely developmentally disabled (intellectual and autistic) who have difficulty receiving existing care services due to challenging behaviors that harm themselves or others, to help them adapt to society and ease the burden of care for their families. It is being implemented for the first time this year.

On this day, five judges including academics, private sector experts, and related public officials evaluated eight items in four categories, including suitability of business operation, fidelity of program composition, diversity of securing partner organizations, and performance record of welfare projects for the disabled. The selected organizations will provide professional and integrated services, such as daily life training and hobby activities, to the most severely developmentally disabled in the future.

Vice-governor Cho Dae-jeong, who is also the chairman, said, “I hope that people with the most severe developmental disabilities will be able to adapt to society stably and that the pain of their families will be somewhat healed,” and added, “I will continue to work to create a warm Goheung County where people with disabilities can live happy and healthy lives as members of the community.”

Meanwhile, Goheung-gun is doing its best to support the stability and independence of the lives of the disabled and improve their quality of life by ▲ expanding participation in the job creation project for the disabled (200 people, 35 more than the previous year) for the 7,049 disabled people, ▲ promoting a rights-centered public job creation project for the most severely disabled people (new), ▲ supporting disability pensions and disability allowances, ▲ supporting developmental rehabilitation service vouchers, ▲ supporting activities for the disabled, ▲ supporting housework and nursing home visit services, and ▲ supporting daytime activity services for the developmentally disabled.
