Going abroad with the Deutschlandticket: These destinations are possible

Travel back and forth by bus and train through Germany for 49 euros a month: since May 1, this has been possible with the Deutschlandticket, the unofficial successor to the best-selling 9-euro ticket from summer 2022.

Contrary to what the name of the ticket suggests, users can not only travel in Germany, the ticket is also valid across borders in many places. Excursions to the Netherlands, Poland or Switzerland are possible without paying extra.

Travel abroad with the Deutschlandticket

But be careful: As always, the Deutschlandticket is only valid on regional trains on international routes – ICEs, Intercity or the Flixtrain may not be used with the bus and train flat rate.

On all other routes that lead abroad, the Deutschlandticket is only valid up to the last train station in Germany. An additional ticket is required for onward travel. Bus or light rail lines are not listed
