Going International, the Horror Film Sorop Will Be Present at the ACFM Event

jpnn.comJAKARTA – The production house MD Pictures is bringing its latest horror film entitled Sorop to the international market.

The film will be launched at the prestigious Asian Content & Film Market (ACFM) in Busan, South Korea.

The move is supported by Barunson E&A, the production company behind the Oscar-winning film ‘Parasite’.

MD Pictures CEO and Founder Manoj Punjabi said, Sorop offers a unique blend of local folklore and supernatural intrigue that will captivate international audiences.

“With Barunson’s expertise and vision, we are confident that this film will shine on a global scale,” said Manoj, in his statement, Saturday (28/9).

Barunson E&A, which has launched its international operations since October 2022, focuses on co-production and film financing on a global scale.

Sorop is the fourth non-Korean film from Barunson E&A after the horror-comedy Vietnam Don’t Cry, Butterfly which won the Grand Prize and Most Innovative Feature Award at Venice Critics’ Week 2024.

“We are very enthusiastic about collaborating with extraordinary creators from Indonesia,” said Choi Yoon-hee, CEO of Barunson E&A.

MD Pictures will present the horror film Sorop at the ACFM event in Busan, South Korea.
