Madurai: In the Gokulraj murder case, the Madurai branch of the High Court has ordered action against Swathi under the Criminal Contempt of Court Act for giving false information.

Gokulraj is an engineering graduate from Omalur in Salem district. Belongs to the list. He is in a relationship with another socialite from Namkal who studied with him. Both met on 23.6.2015 at Arthanareeswarar Temple, Tiruchengode. Gokulraj never returned home after that. The next day, Gokulraj’s decapitated body was found on the railway track in East Tintipalayam, Namakkal district.

15 people including Yuvraj, founder of Theeran Chinnamalai Counter Council from Salem Sangakiri, were arrested for murdering Gokuraj. In this case, the Madurai District Special Court for Prevention of Atrocities Act ruled on March 8, 2022, awarding life imprisonment to 10 people, including Yuvraj, and acquitting 5 people.

All 10 persons, including Yuvraj, filed an appeal in the High Court branch seeking quashing of the sentence. Gokulraj’s mother Chitra filed an appeal before the CBCID seeking punishment for the 5 acquitted persons. The high court branch had directed the police to produce Swathi (who had studied with Gokulraj) in person before the high court, a key witness turned pervert in the case.

Accordingly, on November 25, the police produced Swathi. Then he was shown the scene recorded on the camera of Arthanareeswarar temple in Tiruchengode on 23.6.2015, and who is the person next to you? The financiers had raised various questions including

After that, the judges said Sathyam will shoot forever. The hearing was adjourned to November 30. Swathi should appear in person on that day. Try to tell the truth at least for one day. If the same situation continues on that day, contempt of court action will be taken.

In this case, the hearing on the appeal petition was resumed today in the session of Justices MS Ramesh and N. Anandvenkatesh. Swathi had replied to the question raised by the judges that there was no change in the answer given last week. Following this, the judges ordered action against Swathi under the Criminal Contempt of Court Act for giving false information.
