/ The management of Al-Golan Club announced, on Thursday, its intention to suspend its participation in the Premier League due to the financial crisis.
The club’s vice president, Qasim Hussein, told Agency, “The club’s management is demanding that the Iraqi Football Association fulfill its promises to pay the dues that it had promised before the start of the league.”
Hussein added, “13 clubs, including our club, are in solidarity with the decision to withdraw from the Premier League if the Federation fulfills its promise and disburses the allocated funds,” stressing that “the last date for withdrawal is January 1 of next year.”
He pointed out that the management convinced the players to return to training after they had been absent for several days due to not receiving their dues, noting that “the team is achieving good results in the Premier League and has won the last two matches in the Premier League competitions.”
It is noteworthy that the club is awaiting an important match in the Premier League against Al-Gharraf Club next Saturday, in Dhi Qar Governorate.
