“Local Businessman Cheated in Gold Bar Scam”
Selvapuram, Coimbatore – Saravanan, a 49-year-old businessman from Selvapuram, has fallen victim to a scam involving gold bars. Saravanan, who owns a shop that deals in bulk gold trade, was approached by Viswanathan, 47, from Samiyar Pudu Veedhi, who claimed to be opening a jewelry store and needed gold bars for his business.
Saravanan reportedly provided Viswanathan with 170 gold bars in two installments last month, but Viswanathan failed to fulfill his promise of opening the jewelry store. It is believed that Viswanathan deceived Saravanan and did not intend to use the gold bars for the purpose he claimed.
Feeling cheated, Saravanan filed a complaint against Viswanathan with the Selvapuram police. The police have taken up the case and are currently investigating the matter.
