On the way to the European Championships to be held in Tel Aviv, the Israeli delegation competing in the Challenge Cup in Portugal tonight (Saturday) won two gold medals – by Adi Katz and the artistic gymnastics team.
Katz won the gold medal in a large battle of the individual competition with a total score of 123.600 points, when the medals were awarded by Olympic champion Linoy Ashram, who went out to compete as a coach.
In the qualifying round, Katz scored 30,500 points on her appearance in the bat exercise, 30,800 points on the film exercise she performed, 30,700 received on the hoop and 31,600 points on the ball. In addition, Katz qualified for all finals.
Meanwhile, the artistic gymnastics team also won the gold medal in the multi-event, with a total score of 60.850 points, while ahead of second-placed Spain (58,800) and Poland (55,700). In the combined exercise, Ayelet Sussman’s team received a score of 27,150 and in the hoops exercise, she received a score of 33,700 points.
