Gold is a film directed by Alphonse Putran starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Nayanthara. This is Alphonse film which the audience is waiting for. Prithviraj and others have shared the new poster of the film. Prithvi, Nayanthara, Shammi Thilakan, Krishna Shankar, Babu Raj, Chemban Vinod, Shabarish Verma and others can be seen in the poster. The stars have shared the poster with the caption Alphonse Putran film Gold is coming soon. It will be released in theaters on September 8 as an Onam release. Like Neram and Premam, Gold also does not have a trailer. The teaser and the poster of the film which was released earlier got a lot of attention.
According to reports, Amazon Prime Videos has acquired the digital rights of the film. Gold also has the distinction of Alphonse Putran, which comes seven years after the release of Nivin Pauly’s Premam. SSI Productions has acquired the theatrical rights of the film in Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu distribution rights of the film were sold for a record amount. Filmbeat reports that the film has earned Rs 1.25 crore from the Tamil Nadu distribution rights alone. Alphonse Putra’s second film Prema was well received in Tamil Nadu. Reports indicate that this is the reason for selling gold at a huge price.

The director had informed that there will be no trailer for the film. Instead, Alphonse Putra announced that the video of a song from the film will be out before the release. Prithviraj plays the role of Joshi in Gold. The name of Nayanthara’s character in the film is Sumangali Unnikrishnan. Gold is Nayanthara’s Malayalam film that comes after Kunchacko Boban’s 2021 film Nijhal.
Mallika Sukumaran, Vinay Fort, Altaf Saleem, Sabumon, Roshan Mathew, Lalu Alex, Jaffer Idukki, Jagadish, Abu Saleem, Suresh Krishna, Deepti Sati, Sudheesh, Ajmal Ameer, Prem Kumar, Saiju Note, Justin John, Faisal Mohammad, M Sheas are also appearing as the main characters in the film. The film is produced by Supriya Menon and Listyn Stephen under the banner of Prithviraj Productions and Magic Frames. Director Alphonse Putran himself has handled the film’s story, editing, conflict, VFX, animation, color grading etc. Gold is Alphonse’s third film in his career.
