In Chennai, 22 carat gold prices fell by Rs 328 to Rs 36,880 per pound and Rs 41 to Rs 4,610 per gram on Tuesday.
Also, one gram of silver was sold unchanged at Rs.67. A kg of silver was sold at Rs.67 thousand. As the festive season like Diwali approaches, seeing the continuous fall in the price of gold has created excitement among the housewives.
After a long time, the price of gold has dropped below Rs.37 thousand. It is said that the price is likely to decrease further.
