Thiruvananthapuram: The debate on the gold smuggling case has begun in the urgent motion notice filed by the Opposition in the Assembly. The discussion started at one o’clock in the afternoon.

Shafi Parampil MLA’s urgent motion notice seeking permission to adjourn the meeting due to concerns that the Director of Vigilance and intermediaries tried to subvert Swapna’s 164 statement was allowed. The Chief Minister had informed the Assembly that the matter could be discussed as it is a matter of interest to the people. The discussion lasted for two hours.

Shafi Parampil MLA was the first to introduce the urgent resolution. Then Varkala MLA V Joy from the Left took part in the discussion

V. Joy said that the second episode of the gold smuggling has just arrived. The BJP-Congress alliance is uniting the members of this episode. Shah Kiran is not a broker for anyone in the LDF. A photo of Ramesh Chennithala, BJP minister in Karnataka Kummanam Rajasekharan and Shah Kiran standing with him was also highlighted in the V Joy Sabha.

League MLA AN Shamsuddin, MLA P Balachandran and AN Shamsir addressed the discussion.

At the same time, the Speaker ruled that the church footage would be broadcast only on church TV and that the church footage would not be used for satirical or other commercial purposes. He said this was in line with the 2002 guidelines.

Cameras will not be allowed in areas other than the media room of the Assembly building. Journalists without a camera and a pass are not barred from going anywhere in the church. He also said that the news was given in a media ban by exaggerating some of the obstacles
