Cairo: A teenage boy died in Egypt 2,300 years ago. According to the belief, the child’s body was made into a mummy. And mummy decorated with 49 gold mantra tablets and a gold face veil to guide the child’s soul to the next life.

The mantra tablets and the mask, which remained secret for centuries, have now been digitally detected by CT scans of the mummy without waking it from its slumber. Researchers have named this mummy as Golden Boy.

Mantra tablets are placed inside and outside the mummy. The mummy was discovered in 1916 in a burial site known as Nag el Hasei in southern Egypt. The cemetery was in use from 332 BC – 30 BC. Thousands of mummies were found here. Many are still inside the spacecraft.

All these were transferred to the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. Although they wanted to study the mummies, researchers were hesitant to remove them from the casket because they could damage them. In recent years the use of CT scans to study mummies without removing their outer coverings has become widespread.

The Golden Boy mummy was kept inside two caskets. Apart from 49 mantra plates in 21 different designs, Golden Boy Mummy also has a golden tongue. Golden Boy is believed to have died at around 14-15 years of age. Apart from the heart, other organs had disappeared, according to the study report released yesterday.

At the same time, it is unknown how or who the Golden Boy died. The way the Golden Boy is mummified suggests that he may have belonged to an elite family in ancient Egypt. The Golden Boy has been moved to the main exhibition hall of the Egyptian Museum.
