New Delhi: Indian cinema made history at the world famous Golden Globe Awards. ‘Natu Natu’ from SS Rajamouli’s film RRR won the 2023 Golden Globe Award for Best Song. Famous music composer MM Keeravani has composed the song starting with Natu Natu in RRR. The song at RRR beat Taylor Swift’s Carolina from Where the Crawdads Sing, Ciao Papa from Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, Lady Gaga’s Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick and Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The Golden Globe award is coming to India after fourteen years. AR Rahman previously won the award in 2009.

Ki Hui Hwan won the Best Supporting Actor award at the Golden Globes for his performance in the movie Everything Everywhere All At Once. Best Supporting Actress is Angela Bassett. Angela deserved the award for her performance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

RRR was represented at the Golden Globes by SS Rajamouli, Jr. NTR, Ram Charan and his wife Upasana Kamineni. Set in 1920s British-occupied India, Jr. NTR and Ram Charan play freedom fighters Kumaram Bheem and Alluri Seetharamaraju. Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgan and British actors Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody and Olivia Morris are also in the film.

RRR has collected more than Rs 1,200 crore globally and has won several international awards including Best Director at the New York Film Critics Circle. RRR has been submitted for Oscar nominations in various categories.
