The education association “Ehavat” and the global education organization MindUp teamed up to introduce the world famous and successful curriculum for social emotional learning (SEL), MindUp, into the Israeli education system.
The program entered the Israeli education system for the first time, this week, in elementary schools in cities across the country, and starting next school year, it will be part of the curriculum in hundreds of schools across the country.
As mentioned, “MindUp Neuroscience” is a study program developed by a team of world-renowned experts. Among the prominent names: Sir Ken Robinson (author of the world bestseller ‘The Right Place’), Dr. Dan Siegel (expert in neuroscience and the field of attachment) and researcher Dr. Kimberly Schonert Reichel.
The program, intended for ages 4 to 15, was first integrated into the American school system in 2003, as part of the cultural and educational lessons of the September 2001 twin disaster.
Today, this curriculum has already been implemented in dozens of countries in the world and the organization that leads its promotion and distribution is headed by the Jewish actress and philanthropist, Goldie Hawn. Hon is expected to arrive in Israel in the coming weeks in order to personally monitor the opening of the program and to promote the implementation of the program together with administrators and teachers from elementary and secondary education.
Assaf Levin, CEO of the “Love” association: “The program gives children and youth tools that help dramatically deal with the increasing violence in Israeli society: children from first grade to high school youth will learn about neuroscience, understand how their brain regulates emotions and stress, and thus recognize and learn about the changes that occur in them on a neurological level.

This is one of the best programs in the world to promote social emotional learning and in these days of deepening polarization and division in Israeli society it is of enormous importance in promoting a more tolerant and inclusive society “.
