(ANSA) – ROME, APRIL 07 – The 15th season of the Italy Pro Tour golf starts from Abruzzo with the National Open Championship. From tomorrow to Sunday (April 8-11) at the Miglianico Golf & Country Club (Chieti) 120 competitors will compete for the title. Among these also Matteo Manassero, favorite on the eve, returning from two consecutive second places – in as many appearances in 2021 – on the Alps Tour that allowed him to climb to the top of the ranking regarding the order of merit of the third men’s European circuit. Giulio Castagnara will defend the title. Among the past winners also Jacopo Vecchi Fossa (winner in 2018), Enrico Di Nitto (scored in 2017) and Filippo Bergamaschi (champion in 2016). There is also expectation for the amateur Gregorio De Leo, whose 2021 got off to a great start with the success of the Men’s International Championships in Italy and two Top 10 on the Alps Tour. The event, behind closed doors (due to Covid) , will give away a total prize money of 50,000 euros. (HANDLE).
