The level of collective immunity of Russian citizens to coronavirus today is over 45%, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said during a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and members of the government.

They were set at 80%. “Today, in the country as a whole, this figure is slightly more than 45%,” Golikova said on the air of the Russia 24 TV channel.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the leading regions in achieving collective immunity to coronavirus are Moscow and the Moscow Region, the Republic of Tyva, the Chechen Republic, St. Petersburg, the Chukotka Autonomous District, the Republic of Karelia and the Belgorod Region. “The worst situation is in the Republic of Dagestan, the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, the Kamchatka Territory, the Republic of Tatarstan, the Tomsk Region, the Stavropol Territory, the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, the Republic of Adygea and the Chelyabinsk Region,” Golikova added.

Previously, mandatory vaccination for a number of categories of citizens was introduced by the authorities of over 80 Russian regions. New restrictions are announced against the backdrop of an increase in the incidence of coronavirus infection across the country. The number of infected in the last day increased by 34,073 (total – 8.09 million), and the number of deaths – by 1,028 against 1,015 the day before. This is a new anti-record since the beginning of the pandemic.
