Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said at a briefing that the situation with coronavirus in Russia remains difficult. According to her, there are only six regions where the level of the disease is decreasing. She also spoke about the situation with hospital beds – 29% of all beds in hospitals are occupied by patients with coronavirus. In this regard, the government has developed and submitted to the State Duma bills on QR codes in transport, shops and cafes.
“I would like to draw your attention to the absolutely alarming death rates of the population from covid. Today and in recent days we are seeing very high data <...> more than a thousand citizens die from covid every day, ”said Ms. Golikova. In her opinion, the reason for the high rates is that citizens do not comply with restrictions and do not take preventive measures, “which, first of all, include vaccination of the population.”
“The total percentage of beds that today work in covid is 29%. This is a very high voltage, ”added Ms. Golikova.
The government expects to achieve a herd immunity rate of 80% by June 2022 at the current rate of vaccination.
