Ecuadorian tennis player Gonzalo Escobar won his sixth ATP circuit title by winning the doubles at the ATP 250 in Estoril (Portugal).
Escobar, along with Kazakh Aleksandr Nedovyesov, defeated Frenchmen Sadio Doumbia and Fabien Reboul in the grand final. The score was 7-5 and 6-2 in favour of the Kazakh-Ecuadorian duo, who won their third title as a couple.
After a close first set in which there was only one break in their favour, Escobar and Nedovyesov showed their best tennis in the second set, taking the match and the crown with a resounding 6-2. The new Estoril champions did not lose a set throughout the tournament.
With this title and the one she won last week at the Girona Challenger, Escobar will surely return to the top 50 in the doubles rankings.
