Good news for farmers: the validity of employment permits for foreign workers has been extended

The wording of the message reads as follows: “I would like to inform you that following the inquiries received in our office, in consultation with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Agriculture and in accordance with the decision of the Authority’s CEO Tomer Moskovich, the validity of the permits in the agriculture sector will be temporarily extended for an additional period until February 31, 2023, details below: Permit Expiration It will be valid on December 31, 2022, and will be automatically extended, without the need to apply to the Authority and without the need to pay fees, for three additional months until March 31, 2023.

Also, since it is an automatic extension without the need to submit an application, the permit extension will be updated in the Population and Immigration Authority’s computer system only. And the employment permits will not be sent. A sweeping extension according to this announcement will not apply to farmers for whom an individual decision was made after a hearing to cancel/not extend the employment permit according to Section 22 of the Foreign Workers Law, 1991. An updated announcement regarding the allocation of permits for the year 13.1 will be published later.”
