Jaipur: There is good news for 586 Gram Panchayats of Rajasthan. 586 Gram Panchayats of the state are now free from Tuberculosis (TB). Officials of the Medical and Health Department announced this on Friday. According to the statement of the Medical and Health Department, the department is moving rapidly towards making Rajasthan TB free. Due to the continuous efforts of the department, the Central Tuberculosis Section of the Government of India has declared 586 Gram Panchayats of the state as TB free.
Important achievement for Rajasthan: Medical Minister
Medical Minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar said that this is an important achievement for the state. This success has been achieved by the medical department by ensuring the availability of the best health services and schemes to TB patients. He said that the TB Free Rajasthan campaign will be run with commitment in the state in the future as well.
‘TB Free Panchayat’ campaign was started in 2023
Additional Chief Secretary of Medical and Health Department, Shubhra Singh said that in order to strengthen TB eradication efforts, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the ‘TB Free Panchayat’ campaign in the ‘World TB Day’ celebration held in Varanasi on March 24, 2023. She said that the objective of this campaign is to provide support to Panchayati Raj members for TB disease programs, help patients and make joint efforts towards making the Panchayat TB free. Rajasthan’s performance under this campaign has been remarkable.
What is the next target for Rajasthan?
The Mission Director of the National Health Mission said that to make the state TB free by the year 2025, the medical department is running a campaign in 9,325 Gram Panchayats this year.
