Somato has decided to implement this scheme to ensure the safety of their employees who have been working with the company for more than 2 to 3 years. In the current context, Somato has launched medical insurance plans in New Delhi, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad.

Already life insurance for Rs.10 lakhs
Somato is already implementing a Rs 10 lakh lifetime insurance plan for its delivery employees. In case of death of an employee, apart from this insurance, a separate payment is made for his funeral expenses, according to Somato.
Somato is implementing life insurance and medical insurance plans for employees as there are more and more reports of accidents on the job.
Employees who died recently
Last month, various media reported that a Somato employee died in an accident while on his way to deliver food. Similarly, last June, an employee was stabbed to death while on duty.
Meanwhile, the employees of companies like Somato and Swiggy have been protesting saying that their wages have been reduced and overpaid and there is no guarantee of security.
Somato implements medical insurance plan at this stage. Somato said that all insurance related details can be found in the app used by the delivery staff in their native language.
Insurance provision of Rs.15.94 crores
Somato is implementing an insurance plan of Rs.1 lakh for all delivery employees. Under this scheme, 9,210 employees have been covered for Rs 15.94 crore in the year till last March. Apart from this, the employees are given up to Rs.5 thousand as stipend for outpatient treatment.
According to Somato, Rs.2.3 crore has been given to the employees and their families in this financial year.
